18th Annual Festival

18th Annual Belfast Poetry Festival October 12-15, 2023

an all-arts festival with poetry as the driving force

Fashion Sketch, 2018 by Alex Rheault.

The annual Belfast Poetry Festival returns for its eighteenth year from Friday to Sunday, October 13-15, 2023, celebrating poetry, community, and artistic possibility. An all-arts festival with poetry as the driving force, this year's event combines variety show, art exhibit, and literary showcase. The evening showcase is free and open to the public.

The Belfast Poetry Festival, one of the few community-based, non-academic poetry festivals in the United States, is possible thanks to support from The Maine Review, the City of Belfast, the Belfast Free Library, and the office of the Belfast Poet Laureate.  For more information on this year's event, the Maine Postmark Poetry Contest, or other programming produced by the Belfast Poetry Festival, contact Jacob Fricke or see our facebook page.
